It’s early summer in Western Montana, one of the busiest and best times of year for real estate. Windermere agents are helping clients make the most of the season. But even as the market heats up, Windermere’s mission goes far beyond contracts and closings. Every June, Windermere agents in Missoula step away from their work to focus on something bigger: giving back to the community they proudly serve on their annual community service day.
Windermere’s Annual Community Service Day
This year marked Windermere’s 21st Annual Community Service Day, a tradition that reflects their deep-rooted commitment to giving back. On the first Friday of June, the Missoula team stepped away from the office and headed into the community. They began at the Medowlark, a newly opened YWCA emergency family shelter providing short-term housing and education for local families experiencing homelessness.
The Windermere agents spent the day staining the board fencing that surrounds the facility, using 20 gallons of stain to complete the job. They also assembled a new storage building to support the shelter’s daily operations. These projects combined will benefit the organization for years to come.
These efforts were made possible thanks to the generous support of First Security Bank and Sherwin-Williams Paint, who donated materials and helped bring the project to life. Their involvement speaks to the way the Windermere team in both Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley builds meaningful connections. Connecting not just with clients, but with the community as a whole.
Over the last two decades, Windermere has extended that same spirit of service to dozens of local organizations, including Watson’s Children’s Shelter, Youth Homes, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Aware Mental Health Services, Homeword, and many more. The list is long, and the impact is real.
Nationwide, Windermere agents have logged over one million hours of service through Community Service Day, with more than 5,000 agents each year rolling up their sleeves and making meaningful contributions within the communities they serve. They support a wide range of causes: senior centers, food banks, public playgrounds, and housing projects. For Windermere, community isn’t just a place, it’s a promise to show up, lend a hand, and be part of something bigger.
